Destiny's Road is a film about a teenage girl, whose only chance of making it out of poverty is through college, scrambles to recover stolen tuition money before reliant family members catch on to her secret. While in attendance at the Denton Black Film Festival for the Destiny's Road film premiere, I had the opportunity to speak on the The Art of Short Filmmaking panel along with other talented filmmakers - Calvin Walter, Jacoby Percy, Lizette Barrera, and moderator, Vaun Monroe. We discussed the unique qualities of short films as well as why emerging filmmakers should embrace this genre. Destiny's Road screened at the Alamo Drafthouse Theater on the final day of the festival. We had the pleasure of being the opening film for the winner of the best feature documentary, Patrinell The Total Experience .
